Determination of Carding Roving Hank by count data system

Introduction:Sliver is the production of carding machine raw material of sliver is bell. Lap is interred the carding machine and after processing sliver is produced roving is the production of complete new mtl of roving sliver. Sliver and roving count is determine as number of hank of 840 yds present in 1 lb.

Object:
  • To determine the hank of sliver
  • To determine the hank of roving
  • To know the sliver and roving sample thickness
  • To determine the retn between count and unit of sliver hank

 Apparatus:

  1. Computer
  2. Printer
  3. Warp block
  4. Electric balance
  5. Sliver and roving etc

Data:-
Sample weight =2.05
Length unit       = 840 yds
Weight unit       = 1lb
Sample length   = 120 yds

Calculation:

From table 1. Roving hank
We know that, Hank=(sample Length÷ Length  unit ) × (Weight unit × sample weight)
So,
Hank1 = (6yds ÷840 yds ) × ( 1lb÷4.13gm )

           =( 6yds ÷840yds ) × (453.46 ÷4.13gm )= 0.784
Count strength produced =62
TPI =20
CSP= 31.6 × 62 =1959.2
